Cornhill-on-Tweed Community Website Launch
Cornhill First School, Wednesday 20th August 2008

I am delighted to welcome you to the launch of the Cornhill-on-Tweed Community Website at Cornhill First School.  The Community Website was spawned by the Parish Plan which was published in 2006.  The Parish Plan emphasised the importance of the local economy to the community of the Parish, particularly tourism.  The Community Website has been designed and will be managed by people from our local businesses, churches, village halls, the school, the village shop and Parish Council.

Her Worship The Mayor of Berwick-upon-Tweed, Hazel Bettison has kindly agreed to officiate. 

Following the formal inauguration you are invited to browse the website using the interactive whiteboard equipment and laptops installed at the school.  The school will be open until 8.00pm. 

The Head, staff and children of Cornhill First School in concert with colleagues from the two local hotels, other accommodation providers, the churches, the village shop, the Women’s Institute and the Village Halls, all working with the Parish Council, have played a pivotal role in the design and management of the development of the community website.

Fantasy Prints has developed the website for the Parish through funding from the North Northumberland Leader Gold Small Grants Scheme administered by Community Action Northumberland.

The Collingwood Arms Hotel together with The Tillmouth Park Hotel have generously agreed to host the event providing refreshments and canapés for our enjoyment.
